Listing rules by category
6.1 Services (training, coaching, farrier, transport, etc.)
Description. Describe scope, location, timing, price, what is included and excluded, and any prerequisites or risks.
Scheduling. Keep schedules accurate.
Completion. Mark jobs complete only after delivery.
Cancellations and refunds. Follow Section 8 and the Refund Policy. You may offer more flexible terms, not stricter ones.
6.2 Digital content (courses, e‑books, videos, templates)
Rights. You must own or have rights to everything you sell.
Details. Include format, length, access method, and any usage limits.
License. Buyers receive a license to use content as described, not ownership.
Security. No malware or hidden tracking beyond what our Privacy Policy allows.
6.3 Events (clinics, shows, workshops)
Details. Provide date, venue, capacity, price, code of conduct, and refund or reschedule terms.
Changes. If you cancel or materially change an event, notify attendees at once and handle refunds as set in Section 8.3.
Safety. Manage safety on site and comply with venue and local rules.
6.4 Opportunities (jobs, internships, sponsorships, grants)
Quality. Posts must be legitimate and equestrian related.
Pay and terms. Include role, location or remote, pay or stipend if any, key duties, and required skills.
No fees to apply. Do not charge people just to apply, except lawful and disclosed items like standard background checks.
Contact. Use EquiLink messaging for initial contact.
Data. No data harvesting.
6.5 Product listings
External links. Your EquiLink product listing links to your own product page. Checkout, payment, tax, shipping, returns, and customer support happen on your site, not on EquiLink. EquiLink is not the seller of record and is not a party to the sale.
Accurate description. State item name, brand, model, condition, size, materials, included accessories, known defects, and what is not included. Use photos you have rights to.
Prohibited items. No prescription drugs or controlled supplements. No recalled or counterfeit goods. No items illegal in the buyer or seller location. We may remove any suspicious listing.
Safety notes. Disclose any repairs or damages. Fit is the buyer’s responsibility unless your site states a fit guarantee.
Link rules. The link must go directly to the product detail page. No link cloaking or auto‑redirects. We may append tracking parameters to measure clicks and conversions.
Policies on your site. Your product page must show price, taxes if any, shipping costs, handling time, return window, and contact method.
Problems and abuse. Handle customer issues on your site. EquiLink may mediate listing disputes and may remove listings or accounts for repeated issues.
Payment, fees and taxes
Processing. We use third‑party processors for transactions we handle. You must complete any required identity and tax checks and keep a valid payout method.
Platform fee. The standard commission is 8% of the item subtotal per transaction that EquiLink processes, excluding taxes. This applies to services, event tickets, and digital content. No EquiLink commission applies to product listings that use external checkout in Section 6.5.
Payout timing. We release earnings after delivery or completion. Stripe usually sends funds within 7 days of transaction completion, subject to Stripe's payout schedule and your bank. We may hold funds for new sellers, high value orders, disputes, events not yet held, or risk review.
Currency. Prices and payouts are set in USD, as shown in your listing. Conversion is handled by the processor. You are responsible for any conversion costs.
Taxes. For transactions we process, you must set your tax region in the app so we can calculate it. We may calculate and collect sales taxes using our provider's tools based on the details you provide. You are responsible for taxes we do not collect and for your income taxes.
Chargebacks and adjustments. If a payment we process is reversed, we may withhold or debit the amount from your balance or future payouts. You must provide evidence on request.
Cancellations, returns and refunds
Services. Standard tier: full refund if canceled more than 48 hours before start, 50% refund 24–48 hours, no refund within 24 hours. You may offer better terms in your listing.
Digital content. Sales are final unless the file is defective or not as described.
Events. Tickets are final sale unless the event is canceled or materially changed. If canceled or a buyer cannot attend a rescheduled date, issue a refund.
Product listings. Returns and refunds are handled on the seller’s site under the seller’s policy. EquiLink does not issue refunds for these sales. Repeated complaints can lead to listing removal or account action.
Process. Refunds for items we process can be issued by you or by EquiLink in line with policy. If you were already paid out, we may deduct the refund from your balance or future payouts.
Disputes between users
First, try to resolve issues directly through EquiLink messages.
If that fails, either side can ask EquiLink to mediate. We may request evidence and will make a fair call on platform actions. Our decision on platform refunds and listing removal is final on the platform. Either party can still pursue legal remedies outside EquiLink.
We may deny abusive claims and act on repeated poor conduct by any user.
Intellectual property
You own your content. By posting it, you grant EquiLink a worldwide, royalty‑free license to host, use, display, re‑size, and promote your content to operate the platform and our own channels. This license ends when you remove the content, subject to reasonable backup and prior promotions.
Do not upload content you do not own or have rights to. We follow copyright and trademark laws and respond to valid notices.
Our name, logo, software, and data are our IP. You may not copy, reverse engineer, or reuse them without permission. You may say you are on EquiLink in plain text.
Safety and restricted items
No listings that risk user safety or break the law.
Examples of banned or restricted items and claims: used helmets or used protective vests, prescription or controlled drugs and supplements, recalled items, counterfeit goods, explosives or weapons, and any false or unproven medical claims.
We may remove any listing we find risky or non‑compliant.
Reviews and ratings
Reviews must be honest and based on real experience. Do not buy, trade, or threaten for reviews.
You may reply to reviews but do not share customer personal data or retaliate.
Flag reviews that violate our rules. We may remove them after review.
Platform management
We may review, edit for clarity, refuse, rank, hide, or remove listings or content to protect users and the platform.
We may label some listings as sponsored or featured.
We may suspend or limit accounts during investigations.
We do not guarantee results, bookings, sales, or earnings.
Data privacy and confidentiality
Use customer data only to fulfill orders, provide support, and meet legal duties. Do not add customers to marketing without consent where required by law. Comply with our Privacy Policy and all data rules that apply to you.
Disclaimers
The platform is provided as is and as available. We do not promise uninterrupted service or any specific outcomes.
For product listings with external checkout, EquiLink is not the seller of record and does not handle payment, tax, shipping, or returns.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, EquiLink is not liable for lost profits, lost data, or indirect damages. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the higher of fees you paid to us in the 3 months before the claim or 100 USD.
Indemnity
You will defend and hold EquiLink harmless from claims arising from your listings, content, or use of the platform, your breach of this Agreement, or your violation of law or third‑party rights.
Term and termination
This Agreement starts when you accept it and continues until ended.
You can close your Business account at any time after resolving open transactions. Please give 30 days’ notice when possible.
We can terminate for any reason with notice, or immediately for cause such as fraud, safety risks, or repeated violations.
Parts that should continue after termination will continue, including fees due, IP, limits on liability, indemnity, and dispute rules.
Governing law and disputes with EquiLink
This Agreement is governed by the laws of Québec and Canada, without regard to conflict rules.
Disputes with EquiLink will be handled under our arbitration policy. If a court claim is needed, the exclusive courts are in Montréal, Québec, Canada.
If you have non‑waivable consumer rights under your local law, this section applies only to the extent allowed by that law.
Changes to this agreement
We may update this Agreement. We will notify you of material changes in advance. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms. If you do not agree, stop using EquiLink and close your Business account.
Notices and contact
We send notices to the email in your account or through the platform. You are responsible for keeping your contact info current.
Legal notices to EquiLink can be sent to the address or email in our Contact details on the site.
Other terms
This is the entire Agreement about Business use. It replaces prior understandings on this topic.
No partnership, joint venture, agency, or employment is created.
If a provision is invalid, the rest still applies, and we will replace the invalid part with a valid one that meets the same intent.
You may not assign this Agreement without our consent. We may assign it to an affiliate or as part of a reorganization or sale.
Headings are for convenience only.
